Education:

SuVidya:

More kids from the neighborhood will be enrolled in the government schools and they will be prepared for the school by running bridge courses.
More such schools will be planned from the year 2009 (one more school every year)

Vijayam:

The reach will be increased to a few more schools and students in 2009 and will include students of 8th standard.

In the long term, the strength will be increased in Amalapuram center and more centers will be opened by partnering.

Santhosham – Hostel for poor students:

This is planned for year 2009 with target strength of 40, providing free shelter, nutrition, clothes and supplementary education as needed. The target section for this are the children who are orphans / semi-orphans or unable to attend the school because they need to support themselves (and, may be even their parents) or out of the mainstream due to various other reasons. The students will go to a government school in the neighborhood or to a private school that is willing to partner with us (we are in discussion with a few potential partners).

In the long term, these will be transformed to full-fledged residential schools with an extra focus on non-conventional and functional education.

Scholarships:

Plans are afoot to identify students (junior college and above) with good academic performance levels that are under economic distress and provide scholarships towards their education expenses.

We also plan to connect them with organizations / individuals that are willing to help.

Apart from the above, we plan to continue our support to Government schools and other NGOs.

Healthcare / Nutrition:

Amma:

We are planning to identify a few more eligible women and continue this program. In 2009, we plan extend the nutrition & health care to the kids of those pregnant women covered under our project (until the age of 3 years).

Others:

We plan to provide primary healthcare to all students of our Suvidya and Vijayam apart from Santhosham.

We are also looking for NGOs that work in the area of healthcare to support / partner in some of their initiatives.

For the long term, we plan to conduct healthcare camps e.g. diabetes care, eye care etc. in the underprivileged neighborhoods and open own clinics (initially with visiting doctors).

 

Livelihoods:

Currently, we are exploring partnerships with other NGOs (like Byrraju Foundation, Dr.Reddy's Foundation etc.)
