Health care & nutrition:
Amma:
We started this project in Hyderabad on March 8, 2008 (International Women's day). Under this project, we are providing nutrition & healthcare to a few pregnant women (until the baby is 3 months old) who are otherwise under-nutritioned due to economic situations and ignorance. In Hyderabad, we have implemented this project with the help of a women's organization called Bhumika ( www.bhumika.org ). In Vizag, our volunteers Giri Palepu and Smt. Rani have helped us. So far, we provided support to about 4 women in a few slum areas in Hyderabad and Vizag.
Livelihoods:
We supported a poor family in Nellore by providing them a sewing machine. We identified this beneficiary through our partner NGO 'To Make a Difference (TMAD)'.
Cultural:
We adopted a cultural society in Vijayawada by name 'Saibaba Natya Mandali' and providing them financial support.
• Under the foundation's banner, a patriotic play 'Prathama Bharatha Swatanthra Sangraamam – 1857' (First Indian Freedom Fight – 1857) has won 6 awards in the 2009 AP Nandi Naatakam. This is a new record in the history of AP Nandi Naataka awards.
• The play has also won 2 awards in NTR Kala Parishad, which is a rare double in the same year.
